Akshay Kumar was all set to walk the red carpet at Cannes 2022. He was one among the several Indian celebrities who will be a part of the Indian delegation to the Cannes Film Festival on May 17. The delegation will be led by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur. However, Akshay Kumar will no longer be a part of the delegation as the actor has tested positive for COVID-19 three days before he was scheduled to walk the red carpet at the prestigious film festival representing India.

On Saturday night, Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid. Will rest it out. Loads of best wishes to you and your entire team, @ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there."

Meanwhile, the Indian celebrities who will be a part of the delegation are Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nayanthara, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia, AR Rahman, and R Madhavan. Actor Hina Khan will also be returning to the film festival this year. She made her debut on the Cannes Red carpet in 2019 for the poster launch of her film Lines. This year, the actress will be attending the poster launch of her Indo-English film Country of Blind.

R Madhavan will be attending the film festival for his upcoming film Rocketry- The Nambi Effect. The film will receive its world premiere in Cannes on May 19 as part of the celebration of India as the official country of honor at the Cannes Market this year. The biographical drama was shot simultaneously in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, and English, with the English version showing in Cannes. The theatrical release is set for July 1 and will also feature Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada versions.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The film also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani, and Ratna Pathak Shah in key roles. Apart from this, he will be seen next in Karan Johar's romantic-comedy film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Alia Bhatt. Ranveer also has other projects including Cirkus in his pipeline.

It was sophisticated, with twin pockets at the front and several buttons positioned vertically. The outfit also had a ragged hem and a form-fitting bodice. Ananya Panday, who is known to treat her crew members like her family, seems to have taken up the different role. The actress along with the rest of the team was seen cutting one of the crew member’s hair and styling it. While she was not sure of how to do it, she was initially seen getting tutored for it. Indian Youth icon Sidharth Malhotra joined many dignitaries for the grand launch of Modi @ 20: The book 'Modi @ 20: Dreams Meet Delivery', a book written on Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on Wednesday.

Sidharth Malhotra was the only Indian actor to grace this grand launch, which was attended by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, I&B Minister Anurag Thakur, amongst others. Honourable PM Narendra Modi - a self-made man has been the mind behind getting India recognition and respect globally and a vision for a progressive India. The book, which traces the journey of PM Narendra Modi, aims to inspire the youth.

Sidharth Malhotra was honoured to be a part of the event and was enlightened by the journey of our PM. Sidharth could relate to the journey as he himself is a self-made actor who paved his path in Bollywood.

Ranveer Singh is currently busy promoting his forthcoming film Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Needless to say, the actor has been attending many TV shows and the recent one that was a part of his promotions was Dance Deewane Juniors which is aired on Colors’. We bring to you an interesting moment from the sets of the show, where our beloved superstar meets veteran actress and one of the judges show Neetu Kapoor.

Ranveer Singh, who graced the show, set the energy levels soaring with his zestful persona. While promoting Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Ranveer decided to pay a tribute of sorts to legendary actor Rishi Kapoor and he even grooved with Neetu Kapoor on his popular tracks.

Ranveer joined all the contestants on stage to perform the signature steps Rishi Kapoor’s hit songs. Amidst other songs, he performed on the iconic hit ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’ from the film Khel Khel Mein (1975). In fact, the song originally featured the legendary actor along with Neetu Kapoor. After dancing with Neetu Kapoor, Ranveer Singh was overwhelmed with emotion and added, “I am a huge Rishi Kapoor fan, and this dance will always remain special to me. It will be a memory of a lifetime for me.”

From what we hear Ranveer Singh received a ‘Jordaar’ welcome from host Karan Kundrra. Not just Neetu Kapoor, Ranveer Singh also shook a leg with Nora Fatehi, who is one of the other judges from the show. Besides the two of them, the judge panel also includes Marzi Pestonji.

Speaking of Jayeshbhai Jordaar, the film also marks the Bollywood debut of popular South actress Shalini Pandey. It also stars Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles. The film, directed by Divyang Thakkar, is slated to release on May 13, 2022.
