https://ift.tt/CcAd1HF Director Siddharth Anand has delivered two monstrous hits back to back with War and now Pathaan, which has also become the all-time highest-grossing Hindi film worldwide in the history of cinema. He feels a ‘huge sense of vindication’ with Pathaan proving that people want to come to theatres to see films that give audiences a larger-than-life experience! Siddharth and the visionary S.S. Rajamouli are also the only two directors in the coveted Rs. 500 crore nett collection club in Hindi format. Siddharth has also blunted the narrative that Hindi films are being check-mated by South films at the box office. Siddharth says, “There is a huge sense of vindication with Pathaan doing well at the box office. What I believe that films weren’t doing well in the middle because those films were made pre-pandemic. So, there was a period where cinemas were shut and we couldn’t release our films, people weren’t coming back – so there was a prolonged break for our films.” He adds, “And those films were made pre-pandemic, there is a mindset that has changed post-pandemic. There is a viewing pattern that has changed. And those films were unfortunately victims of that change. Even when I was making War, there was a sense of parallel cinema is the new commercial cinema in 2018-2019. You had small independent films and big ideas doing much better than tentpole films till War happened. That time also I felt that – Oh my God, has the viewing pattern changed but War again proved if you make a good cinematic experience film for our masses people will come to theatres.” Siddharth has delivered the biggest hits of superstars Shah Rukh Khan & Hrithik Roshan in these high octane spy films. He says, “I’d like to believe is that I don’t differentiate between the class and the mass audience. I try and cater to both subconsciously – it’s not an effort. So, I try and get all the quadrants to enjoy my films. On March 24, 2023, the show was held and was attended by the biggies from the entertainment industry. The gala night honoured numerous Bollywood celebs for keeping the quotient of fashion high while entertaining the audience. Among many others, popular actress Rashmika Mandanna won Bollywood Hungama Style Icons 2023’s ‘Most Stylish Pan-India Icon’ award. The National Crush Rashmika Mandanna would choose comfort over fashion, that much is certain. Although her fashion choices are frequently discussed, she is undoubtedly a part of street style. Her focus is on comfort, and she prefers to dress simply than to follow current trends. She has earned incredible success in India. The young starlet has multiple fan pages. Readers may recall that we nominated Bobby Deol, Pankaj Tripathi, Shefali Shah, Manoj Bajpayee and Huma Qureshi for the Most Stylish OTT Entertainer award. Well, actor Bobby Deol has emerged as the winner. The actor was presented by Raashii Khanna. With web shows like Class of ‘83 and Aashram in his repertoire, the actor has proved his mettle. If you look closely, besides the genres, the fashion choices of Deol for both looks were also standing apart from each other. Not only this, but he also impressed his fans with his performance in Love Hostel. After embracing the Most Stylish OTT Entertainer award, Deol asserted, “Award kaafi kam milte the humari family mai. Ab milney shuru ho gaye hai. So I thank OTT platforms for that. Because of these platforms actors like me, who are older, are getting the opportunity to play the characters, where they can prove their calibre. And that’s the best thing happening. In every department of filmmaking, there are a lot of people who don’t get jobs, and OTT platforms have done that.” He further added, “I never imagined getting a Style Icon award. I have to thank my wife Tany. I got married off right after my first film was released. She took control of my dressing.” Coming back to BH Style Icons 2023, held on March 24 2023 at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, a number of B-town celebs attended this maiden edition, including Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, Anil Kapoor, Sunny Leone, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon. Even 16 years later, the film is a beloved romance drama of all time. The film was re-released in theatres during Valentine’s 2023 week in selected cinemas in the country and the cinemas were going houseful. Videos from theatres have been going viral as the fans were enjoying the movie. Shahid Kapoor had even surprised the fans with his unplanned appearance. The actor thinks that such films happen once in two decades. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Shahid Kapoor said, "We re-released Jab We Met recently and a lot of people are now asking me why I ain’t doing a film like this again. I feel, Jab We Met happens once in two decades and it’s not like an everyday film. Most of the film one does in this genre are bad, so one needs to pick up a decent script. In fact, Imtiaz (Ali, director) and I were also chatting to find something in this space again. I want to do something fun and exciting." Shahid Kapoor, during Farzi promotions, had made a surprise appearance at PVR Cinemas in Juhu. The actor arrived towards the end of the film when the ‘Mauja Hi Mauja’ song was playing. Jab We Met is primarily based in Mumbai, Bathinda, and Shimla, as it tells the story of a feisty Punjabi girl, Geet Dhillon, who is sent off track when she bumps into a depressed Mumbai businessman, Aditya Kashyap, on an overnight train to Delhi. While attempting to get him back on board when he alights at a station stop, both are left stranded in the middle of nowhere. Having walked out of his corporate business after being dumped by his girlfriend, Aditya has no destination in mind, until Geet forces him to accompany her back home to her family, and then on to elope with her secret boyfriend, Anshuman.” Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is currently seen in Raj & DK series Farzi, marking it his OTT debut on Prime Video.
