The Grateful Dead off shoot Dead & Company front man John Mayer has tested positive for Covid-19 owing to which the scheduled resort shows in Cancun, Mexico this weekend has been cancelled.

Notice of the canceled show was posted to the band’s Instagram on Friday. The caption of the post read, “With much sadness and after great consideration of every possible scenario, the Playing in the Sand shows in Riviera Cancun on January 7-10 and January 13-16 have now been canceled by CID Presents due to the spiking COVID-19 cases. Dead & Company and CID Presents tried everything possible to bring normalcy and to deliver a great experience and amazing music, but with each day it became increasingly clear that canceling is the correct thing to do for the fans and for our crew. Please refer to the Playing in the Sand email that will be sent shortly with all details about refunds. See you soon, hug your loved ones, stay safe and be kind.”

John Mayer tested positive shortly before departing for the show. Initially, the band planned to continue on without Mayer, but later decided to cancel the “Playing in the Sand” shows. Ticketholders will be refunded, with details expected to be emailed to holders.

Dead & Company includes former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, with Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti augmenting them. The group has been around since 2015.

Kareena Kapoor Khan frequently posts pictures of her two children, Taimur and Jehangir, on social media. After sharing an unseen photo of her younger son Jeh on New Year's Day, the actor has now shared a sweet photo of her five-year-old.

Kareena wished Taimur's friend a happy birthday on social media on his behalf on Thursday. She posted a photo of Tim (as Taimur is affectionately known by his family) swinging with a friend. In the photo, Taimur is dressed in a purple T-shirt and black jeans.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s first child, Taimur, was born on December 20, 2016, and he quickly became a paparazzi favourite. Kareena had previously uploaded a Boomerang video of Taimur and claimed how her little one helps her to feel better. “He fixes my mood swings,” The video was captioned by the actor.

Kareena expressed her desire for both her sons, Taimur and Jehangir, to have a "feeling of discipline" in one of her recent interviews. She also admitted that she occasionally acts as a "bad cop" because her husband Saif spoils Taimur.

On the work front, Kareena will next be seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump. Advait Chandan directed the epic drama, which also stars Aamir Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. The film will be released on April 14, 2022.

Celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib dominated Twitter trends on Thursday after a video of him spitting a woman's head went viral on social media. Several Twitter users called out Habib for his act which happened during a workshop in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzzafarnagar. Later, the hairstylist issued an apology through a video message.

In his video, Jawed explained that such things are often done with a humourous intent during workshops. He also issued a sincere apology to all those who were hurt because of the incident.

“Some words spoken by me during my seminar have hurt a few people. I just want to say one thing these are professional workshops, as in, they are attended by people from within our profession. When these sessions get very long, we have to make them humorous. What can I say? If you are truly hurt, I apologise from the bottom of my heart. Please forgive me, I am sorry," Jawed Habib can be heard saying in the video.

In the said viral video, Jawed Habib is seen styling a woman's hair in front of the audience who had arrived for the workshop. While explaining, he is seen spitting on the woman’s hair and said that if there is a shortage of water, one can use their saliva. The hairstylist laughed over it and a similar reaction was seen from the audience.

Meanwhile, The National Commission for Women  (NCW) on Thursday said that its chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to the UP Director General of Police (DGP) seeking action in this regard. "The commission has taken this incident very seriously and not only condemns this in strongest possible words but also seeks your urgent intervention in the matter to investigate the veracity of this viral video for immediate action as per law/procedure," the letter reads.

A source in the know informs, “Ranveer has been offered several bio-pics including Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Maneckshaw film which he said no to (and which Vicky Kaushal is now doing). After Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and now Kabir Khan’s 83 (where he plays Kapil Dev), Ranveer will stay off real-life characters for a while.”

The next two releases of Ranveer are Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

Superstars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, the all-time blockbuster pair who have teamed up again for the much-awaited Tiger 3, were heading to New Delhi in mid-January for a crucial shooting schedule that would have mostly seen the actors wrap the principal shooting of the highly-anticipated film. However, Yash Raj Films has postponed this shooting schedule given the omicron threat and the sharp rise in COVID-19 cases across India, including New Delhi.

A trade source informer reveals, “The time is not conducive to plan big outdoor schedules. Omicron threat is real and it is only wise that the makers are choosing to be cautious at this sensitive time. The intense 15-day schedule, which was expected to begin on January 12th, stands postponed as of now, given the surge of coronavirus cases across India, including New Delhi. This schedule will now be planned and executed at a later stage.”

The Maneesh Sharma directorial is hugely hyped to become a film that will be a celebration of true blue Hindi cinema on the big screen and pull people back to the theaters.

“Tiger 3 team has visited several cities across the world as Tiger and Zoya are on their most deadly mission yet in the third installment of this action spectacle franchise. The entire team needs a special round of applause for leaving no stone unturned for brilliantly completing challenging shoot schedules during the pandemic because of the scale that director Maneesh Sharma and YRF wanted to achieve. So, if they have decided to postpone the Delhi schedule, it is definitely a very well thought-out decision from the production house,” the informer added.
