There's a mini Wizards Of Waverly Place reunion happening and no it's not for a reboot. Selena Gomez reunites with her on-screen brother David Henrie to executive produce his directorial debut This is the Year.
Taking to her Instagram, Selena wrote, "I’m so excited to finally get to share the event trailer for @thisistheyearfilm on my official YouTube channel and let you know that David & I are having a live virtual premiere on August 28th hosted by @charlidamelio and @dixiedamelio. Can’t wait to watch the film with you all!"
David said that he is honoured to have Selena on board. "I couldn’t be more honored to bring you a feel good movie that @selenagomez executive produced and I directed called @thisistheyearfilm ! We’re doing a LIVE, one-time only virtual premier event benefitting the @plus1org Covid 19 relief fund hosted by @charlidamelio and @dixiedamelio! You’ll not only get to see myself and @selenagomez in a live Q&A, you’ll get to see one with the whole cast," he wrote on Instagram.
As per Entertainment Tonight reports, "This Is The Year centers on a nerdy high school senior (Lorenzo Henrie), who, in a last-ditch effort to win over the girl of his dreams, embarks on a road trip with friends to see their favorite band at the hottest music festival of the year. Of course, he then discovers true love in the most unexpected place."
This Is The Year stars Gregg Sulkin, Jeff Garlin, Vanessa Marano, Jake Short, Alyssa Jirrels, and Bug Hall.
